These various singing bowls work well to help animals because we know that their vibrational energy is so much more heightened and sensitive than our energetic levels. By muscle testing to see which chakra or chakras need to be balanced or worked on for healing, you can use those bowls and their respective tones to play in small increments and watch the animal's response. Then you can observe if there is acceptance of the sound. You may need to sound the bowls more or just sounding once may do the trick!
Chanting and yoga use our own voices to create the universal sound of OM and other tones as a tool to meditate to change your state of consciousness to a higher level while bringing calm and peace to the body. Even pranic breathing or prana creates a vibration that helps to balance and connect the body to the earth and ground one's self. You can learn to do yoga with your dog or horse to chanting or meditative music that will help calm the dog or horse, and ground you both with a deeper bond. As you continue to do yoga with your animals, you will find that you and your animal will begin to breathe in synchronicity during your session and to relax together.
If we think about simple rhythm, rhythms run through our bodies - our heart beat has a rhythm, our walk or gait has a rhythm and so on, but some external rhythms are abnormal and can overstimulate the body's rhythms bringing it out of harmony or balance. For instance, Masaru Emoto discovered during his water experiments that when heavy metal or rock and roll like Elvis Presley's Jailhouse Rock was played, only blobs were visible in the water in the petri dishes - nothing formed. When classical or baroque music was played, beautiful crystals formed out of the water in the petri dishes. So now we know that rhythms and music can help on an emotional, spiritual and physical level. The Native Americans use drum beats in their rituals and healings, and by repeating the same beat as a normal heart with a drum or gong you can restore the heart to homeostasis just as homeopathy treats like with like, sound does the same by treating the heart with the "heart sound or beat". Babies get soothed and relaxed by rattle rhythms and even the sound of water over a babbling brook or the ocean’s gentle waves have healing effects on our bodies.
Joshua Leeds and Susan Wagner, DVM wrote the books,
and created music cd's that play classic sounds of Schuman, Debussy, Schubert, Brahms and Bach. They discovered these musical selections were specifically arranged in accordance to the canine's nervous system and help dogs relax, reduce separation and anxiety issues, as well as calm your dog and help him remain tranquil while traveling in the car. Robert Aviles wrote healing, cleansing and clearing music especially for animals called "Sanctuary II" that clears spaces and can calm dogs, cats, horses by playing this music. We have seen great results with this music. Even Dr. Pamela Fisher, a holistic vet in Ohio, founded the Rescue Animal Mp3 Project, to help provide relaxation and calming music to animals in shelters.
Whether you choose to play Through a Dog's Ear classical sounds, meditative (yoga) music or chants, Native American rhythms or the healing music from composers like Robert Aviles, think about playing the music at home, in daycare facilities, vet clinics, grooming salons, barns and at performances for performance animals.
All of these different forms of sound provide many levels of healing. Use singing bowls, your voice, rhythmic beats, and/or music to help with various physical and emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, heart issues, blood disorders, blood pressure, pain, noise sensitivity, separation anxiety, and grief. Let music and the beautiful sounds of the earth fill your world and help heal the hearts and souls of you and your animals!
